Bernardo Silva admits France are used to playing in knockout stages. But is determined to lead Portugal to Euro 2024 to make history as a football player.

Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva admits facing France in the last eight of Euro 2024 on Friday will not be an easy game. With their opponents being strong and familiar with the knockout stages. But the 29-year-old is targeting winning the European Championship with Portugal as the most important trophy of his career UFABET  

‘It won’t be an easy game, it’s a quarter-final, all the teams are doing well because they are very strong nations. They are the top eight teams in Europe and we are facing a team. That won the World Cup six years ago and reached the World Cup final again 18 months ago.’

‘They are a team that is used to these things, used to playing in the knockout stages and they have a lot of experience. But we will do it with the aim of reaching the semi-finals because we are a great team as well.’

‘Our target is to win and get close to the final until we win the trophy. When it’s time to win for Portugal, I have had the chance to win many trophies. I won six Premier League titles. And I won the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Nations League with Portugal.’

‘But if I win the UEFA Euro, that will be the most important trophy of my career and it will have a special place in my heart.’

Bernardo also spoke

about missing the chance to be part of Portugal’s Euro 2016-winning squad due to injury. saying: ‘It’s very sad. I got injured in the last training session. I tore a hamstring and I missed the Euros. It was a very sad moment because it was my first tournament (with the national team).’

‘I don’t have any grudges. I think the sadness I felt when I wasn’t there motivated me to look for something else. That’s where the motivation came from for the great season I had at Monaco. That was part of my journey.’
